Day 1: Transfer from Kampala –Kibale National park
Drive early from Kampala city heading west past Mityana and continue to Fort Portal where you will stop for lunch. As you go through Fort Portal lookout for the Royal tombs the palace uphill and the “Amabeere” caves. Kibale is particularly alluring to nature lovers known for its excellent chimp tracking and birding, worth also noting having the highest concentration of primates in East Africa of about 13 primates. Such include chimps, vervet, red-tailed, L’Hosts and blue monkeys. It highlights a miscellany of flora and fauna within the forest. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the moon hotel
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Transfer to Bwindi
If you a primatologist, you are in the right place.” This morning go in search of chimpanzee near Kanyanchu. Chimps live in communities of about 100 individuals; learn about the physical and behavioral aspects we share in common. Check out more primates such the golden monkey, olive baboons, red Colobus, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey and blue monkeys. Later go for a guided nature walk to Bigodi sanctuary (Magombe swamp), which offers an array of birdlife, butterflies and tree species. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek are among the 137 bird species. After the trekking, you will checkout from lodge with your packed lunch and hit the road to go check in at Bwindi impenetrable national park. Dinner and overnight at gorilla friends lodge
Day 3: Bwindi Gorilla trekking and transfer to Kampala
After an early morning breakfast you will be briefed by your tour guide and after start your gorilla tracking journey, you will enter into the amazing rain forest (gorilla sanctuary) as it offers an exciting, heavily forested and dense landscape interacted by plenty of animal trails that provide access for tourists tracking these resident animals. Mammals here include mainly endangered mountain gorillas, elephants, buffaloes, giant forest hogs, the rare golden monkey, black-fronted Duikers, bush bucks, leopards to mention but a few.
The charming mountain gorillas form the highlight of the park, the time and terrain/track taken while looking for these beautiful primates varies according to their movements. Once tracked, observing, spending time with and photographing these gentle, peaceful and shy apes is a unique, breathtaking, inspiring, and thrilling life time memorable adventure that leaves you desiring to have it again but takes you one hour close range with them.
